Micky Finn's Highlights October Bourbon Barrel Picks
If you’re looking for bourbon (particularly rare bourbons, allocated items, and barrel picks), Micky Finn’s has always been the number one stop in the Pee Dee and Florence area. But, in June, 2024, the Florence area institution announced that it was upping its game with an intensified commitment to bringing those rare and highly sought items to all three of its locations.
Micky Finn’s new Bourbon Barrel Pick Program’s implementation coincided with the announcement and the store’s selection of Barrel Pick items soared immediately. While Barrel Pick items were always a part of the store’s offerings, shelves quickly ballooned with the new products. In fact, a new section was installed in the Cashua location just to contain Micky Finn’s Barrel Picks.
As with any Barrel Pick item, each product is privately tasted and selected, ensuring the best of the best from each distiller and a unique taste that can only be found at Micky Finn’s.
While the store's Barrel Pick items are all currently available with more products on the way, the store will be highlighting a few of the products each month as well as running specials and discounts. For instance, Micky Finn's is currently offering a 10% discount on the purchase of two or more Barrel Picks.
Below are just a few of the products the store is highlighting for the month of October:

This bourbon from the historic Ross and Squibb distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, has a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley. Bottled at 108.5 proof, the nose offers vanilla, leather, and a hint of spice. On the palate, peppery oak, brown sugar, and apricot show, followed by a long, warm, thick caramel finish.
Old Soul Cask Strength
This beautiful mahogany colored uncut and unfiltered spirit is distilled in Indiana and aged at the Cathead distillery in Jackson, Mississippi. Bottled at cask strength (121.14), with a 75% corn, 21% malted rye, and 5% barley mash bill. Nice viscosity with a heavy caramel and vanilla nose. Thick mouthfeel, with candied cherry, caramel, and leather. Great long finish, with a hint of cloves, candied fruit and dense caramel.
Like all Barrel Pick Programs, however, supplies are still limited and, once a barrel is gone, it's gone for good. Make sure to visit one of Micky Finn's three locations to browse the available barrel picks today before these selections disappear forever.
